BATIK Workshop with nationally known artist Kris Allphin Saturday July 6th - 10:00am - 5 pm - $175 - 15 students Starter kits will be available for purchase - but not required. Description: "Discover all the possibilities and creativity that can be found in this ancient art form. You will learn traditional dying on muslin fabric using professional dyes, fixatives, tjanting tools and molten waxes while learning the steps to complete several two to three color batik paintings." Participants will complete several two - three color batiks on cotton muslin. I am not teaching on paper but the information the participants learn is traditional batik that can be applied to many substrates such as paper, leather and silk. Drinks and lights snacks will be provided.
